No its not true don't let them get you with that line. I am an MP and we def have people in with 15 month contracts.

What rank are those folks? Is that 15 months after OSUT? Is the GT Score for these soldiers fairly high? And finally, just because you sign a contract for 15 months, does not mean that you will not get "stop-lossed" to go on or stay on a deployment.

I signed the other day and I dont know if it was because I am coming in as an E5 (Im prior service) or not but I had to sign a min of 5 years but I dont mind.

I'm not sure, but I'm thinking the reason they made you sign for five is because you were AF. But, it sounds like BS to me. The Army wouldn't make you sign five for Transportation (Another high-demand MOS) just because you were AF. I think you got scr#wed!

I think it had something to do with me keeping E5. Who knows. I dont think they would do that to a kid coming out of high school though. Either way Im still happy with the contract I signed.

I signed up for 6 years, cause I got a bonus. Got to keep my rank, too. Johnny, do you know when you're going to the school?

Yeah I head to WTC on 29 Apr and then off to AIT after that.

It's 5 yrs sign up..plus 3 years to make sure your brain works right after that.

I recently enlisted. May '08. I don't ship until Aug. 12, start date of Aug. 22 for OSUT at FLW. I don't know if I had a choice, but the contract I signed was for 5 years.
