I was wondering what the weather is like during this time, I will be there for the next 5 months. I was also wondering if it's possible to get Airborne while in OSUT, I was unable to get it in my contract but have heard that if you prove yourself that you can get it in your contract. Anyone know anything about this? Also if my first duty station has an SRT team am I able to tryout right off the back or do I need a certain rank/time in service? Lastly how fast can you rank up as an MP? Thanks!
FLW will be hot from May-Sept so just get used to it. There is a chance you may get Airborne while there but do not count on it. If it comes down the pipe with slots, then great!
As for SRT, you will have to have some time in service and experience under your belt. best thing to do is forget about it right now. You need to concentrate on getting through OSUT first!
How do you gain rank? Know your job, be squared away and **** hot! Also take any courses you can that will give you points for promotion. When you get to your duty station, you will get more guidance from your NCO's.
My husband is at FLP MP OSUT and he got airborne in his contract but he has a friend that got airborne when he got to FLW and started training. The bad news is that he has to stay in FLW until a spot opens for him in a BAC class. He actually has to wait until somebody drops out or get kicked out of the class and he gets the spot. The waiting time is unknown. Good luck!
