Based on my experience, the initial claims process took approximately 7 months. Since my initial rating, I have been increased twice due to re-evaluations. I am a veteran of the Korean thing and spent 3 years on the Uss Arcadia. I go to the VA medical center in Phoenix and everything works out good. Way back when I first enrolled, it was not long at all.
If it is sitting on a desk somewhere and not moving, then their Veterans and Military Liason can kind of say why and kick it up. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it just makes them mad.

Well. I don't know what it's gonna do but after I was denied for CRSC and I was pretty pee-old so I wrote my congressmen. It was about 2 or 3 things one was the bill thats out for helping processing faster. And I had a claim in at the time trying to get IU. and also about the CRSC chapter 61 denial.
well, next day i got a phone from Senator Mitch McConnell's office, and telling me the reason I had not got email from his office There will be a letter from his office and they said they would like to , check on my claim personelly, If it was ok, they would send a letter for me to sign to give them permission to check on my claim. The letter said SSgt Burns, Im sorry to hear about what you have gone thru. I would check on your claim personnelly and I will get back to you as soon as I finish with it. It went in the mail sat morning.

so your saying for exampleI had applied for IU in may of 08, It would only go back to that date, not to the oringle date of my first claim which was in 98?
Yes. When I applied for increases, I only received the increase to the date I filed, not back to my discharge or when my health had decline, but the filing date.

I am just starting down this long road with veteran's benefits. In doing some research it looks like I need to find a number of ex artillery men who are loosing their hearing. Back in 1963 1/11/Brovo (105's)I was told to keep my mouth open and that would equialize the pressure on my ear drumbs. We were offered nothing else to protect our hearing. Now I am having a hearing loss. I want to know if anyone else is haveing the same problems and if so how can we all aid each other fighting the VA.
