Which district contains cutters that make trips 'overseas'. Because I am a prospective FS3 recruit and I want to go underway to different countries (Asia, Europe) I am curious to know, which districts employ the cutters that do so.
Pick a 378' if you want to do a trip like that. I lucked out and got to go overseas while I was on the Mellon. Chances are better, I think, on the West Coast 378's.

Districts 1, 5, 7, 11, 13 and 14 are the ones that come to the top of my head for potential Asia and Europe possibilities.
Go to uscg.mil and look for 270's and 378's if you want to go to Europe or Asia. There are also a select few 275's (buoy tenders) that will travel to areas outside of CONUS. The icebreakers out of Seattle will take you to many cool places as well.
If you're looking for Caribbean ops, the choices get even broader. Just about all white hulled cutters from the eastern seaboard to the Gulf coast make trips to the Caribbean.
