To all PB's and others that may be able to help. When you are in B-2 status, and must maintain XX amount of days of food, what types, or meals do you keep on board? I am planning to do this: instead of using my planned menu, I want to make up a B-2 specific menu. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Dacook Confused

dacook07,
As long as you keep your freezer and reefers stocked, you can just keep the menus that you have. I was and Independent duty FSO for over 7 years and that is the way I always worked it. I also always kept "extras" just in case we got extended out there... I do miss those days of cooking on my WPB... I hope all is well with you and that you find a workable solution for you and your crew... Beer

Thats part of the problem, keeping the refer stocked with edible produce, up here in AK. I can keep the stuff for a few days before it starts going bad. So if it is for the use when we get u/w then I wont use it while i/p. Does that make any sense? And unfortunatley, we do not have a 24hr grocery store here.

I know your pain, I did it in Petersburg, and I feel for you. The only advice I can give you is once or twice a week stock up on minimal vegetables (tomatoes/lettuce) but use it in normal day to day stuff, but just keep some on hand. I hated dealing with it so on some patrols I would use it on meals early on and then only get it on a patrol break. I was taught to keep extra ground beef and chicken breast onboard just because you can do so much with almost nothing with them. Good luck!

Thanks David. I have kept the ground beef on hand, and it has come in handy. Suprising how many people like sloppy joes on sandwich bread. Anyway I am doind that with the produce. Thanks again.
