No takers on the "iti" one?
Two old SWE questions. I don't have the answers in front of me but I'll ask anyway. 1. How much of an adel clamp should a wire bundle fill up? 2. Adel clamp spacing on large wire bundles? If I was really good, I'd ask some wire stamping questions.... |

Close, the microswitch IS activated at full travel. It does not indicate a loss of tail rotor thrust though. Basically it's a tattle tale to indicate whether or not the pilot gave full counter pedal to over-ride the loss of thrust. |

On an HH65 is it the lens or the bulb that makes the left position light green?

You'd be surprised how many people I get with that one. Most people just say it's the lens and don't realize I said the wrong color for the left side. |

I'd like to say it was just a typo, but it's probably more of a senility thing... |

I wonder if the phrase "Good luck Chuck!" was coined on that fateful day in the wardroom?

In an Air Force TO what does the "H" stand for in HC130 and does this refer to Coast Guard AC?

I do believe an "H" in the first designator spot reffers to a "Search and Rescue" vehicle. Whereas an "H" in the second spot designates a "helicopter". yes we use the same designator system as all the other services. I didn't look it up but I'm pretty sure about it.

All military aircraft went to a standard designation system in 1962. It is managed by the AF.
However, there have been some odd number assignments since then; the subject of some interesting websites. http://www.designation-systems.net/usmilav/nonstandard-mds.html Interesting too, how the VC-143A and HC-144A were assigned to CG aircraft from the end of the old number series. We all know about the C-130 and C-141 airlifters, but what was a C-142? |

Geez, why did I say 6"? Of course 24" based upon typical airframe structures. I'm passing on the battery shop questions...too many days spent there..."wouldn't be prudent" to play! |

OK are we using NAVARIR standards or EADS/CASA standards (2-inches).

I used the NAVAIR's for the questions I posted above. Are these EADS/CASA standards listed in the AET PQ's? What are your 2 inches refering too? |

Jeez-O-Pete Shawn, why would we use a standard derived from an aircraft that isn't even finished with operational testing? Of course NAVAIR standards apply... P.S. You can change your profile from E-6 to Chief now... Kevin |

EADS/CASA had a few wiring problems when the first couple of aircraft came off their production line. The major one not leaving a sufficent amount of "slack". Another words coming off a backshell and making and immediate 90 degree turn and being extremley taut!!I know it was not an AET PQ I was being "funny".
Thanks Kevin...I had to earn the right to change it...thanks for the help!! |
