Finally got my orders for the airman program. I'm going to AIRSTA E-City, going to be there the 11th of Jan. Anyone on here over in E-City? Does anyone have any last minute suggestions or tips before I head there. Oh and whats the chances of me gettin assigned to the HH-60 shop. Thats the airframe I would really like to work with.

You will spend time on both sides. Try to keep an open mind and be just as eager with both airframes. There is much to learn and see. This is structured "on the job training." Remember the "on the job part", and you will always do well.

Be ready to take the aircrew swim test when you get there.

Enjoy your time in the swamp, and have a nice pork barbecue sandwich or two while you are there. Make sure to get it with the cole-slaw in the bun.

n1dp gives good advice. Keeping an open mind is very important. Embrace both airframes, and do your best to consider the benefits and drawbacks of both the Jayhawks and the Hercs. I was an Airman and AVT3 at a dual airframe Air Station. I can't possibly begin to relate how many times I've seen Airmen completely shun the C-130 side of the house, or boot 3rds fresh out of school allow their attitude to go down the tank because they were assigned to the fixed wing shops. I always hated to see it.

Enjoy E-City, stay out of trouble, and enjoy the Airman Program. Best of luck to you.
