Probably 3rd or 4th week, and call me selfish, but as long as they make 9 of them (6 left on the May list, the 2 in front of me on the Nov list and of course, ME) then I don't care how far they go after that....

Methinks, May is going to be another bust for the E-6 and above advancements, esp for ETs. June 1, they promote the CWOs. June will be a big month.
See ya'll then.

For sure its this week, now the real question is, when will they start making large numbers for the E-6 and up? I know they hold off in promoting before the transfers to save the money and the warrant advancements as well, but with this trickle effect it seems a long way from getting to the published cuts.

I guess you didn't read ALCOAST 110/08.
Where it states you may not post these msgs in a public domain before it is posted at www.uscg.mil/announcements.
Read the msg and go to the site, before you post another msg on this public domain. Just looking out for you. We are not the only ones visiting these sites.

From the site:

Q: Does this mean no one else can post Coast Guard Messages on the web?
A: Once information is posted on www.uscg.mil/announcements, it is in the public domain. These messages can be freely copied and distributed by all webpage visitors, and we highly encourage our visitors to do so.

I must say that I'm confused by Smirfy's post. I followed the link embedded in Smirfy's post and found ALCGENL 058/08 listed there and that it has been available since April 23, 2008. I was able to open the message and read all of the same information that MicahHiram posted today, a full five days after the message entered public domain. The tone of Smirfy's most recent post (dated today, again a full five days after the message reached public domain) post leads me to believe that Micah still should not be posting the advancement message, but the text of Smirfy's message states that once ALCGENL 058/08 is in public domain, then anyone can post it within these threads...who is right? Confused...that's a rhetorical question, I know the answer Wink

Sorry, I was not trying to have sharp tone. Let me clarify my meaning. My interpretion of Alcoast 110/08: You can post what you like, but CG Announcements must be first to post on the Internet. ALCGENL 058/08 was posted on the INTRANET, days prior to the INTERNET Release on CG Announcements. For whatever reason, the msg states Internet releasable, even though ALCOAST 110/08 and the site, states explicitly that they want to be the first Internet release for any CG Msg. It doesn't make sense to me either. They need make up their minds, and either change the wording on the msg or correct the ALCOAST.

Resq_mech, Micah Hiram posted this message twice. If you scroll up you can see the original post was within minutes of the Intranet/CGMS release.
