How do they account for reserve time on the SWE...Is it 1 year in the reserve = 1 year TIS? The reason I ask is because I have almost 12 years in the military...6 years CG and a combination of 6 years in the Army and Army Reserve...On my PDE its only counting my CG time for whatever reason...I was unable to get it fixed by the deadline because my wife had a very serious medical issue going on and it was not my top concern to get it fixed...I was told by a YN that in order for it to count as 1 year you would have to spend 365 days drilling in order for it to count as 1 year...The BS flag immidiately went up...The PERSMAN doesnt really make it clear as to how they calculate it for the SWE...Any insight from some prior reserve now active duty would be very helpful...
Should be both your reserve and active together. So the way I am reading this you have 6 years TIS w/CG + whatever was your active time in Army + Reserve TIS divided by 36 months. If thats not making your head spin enough, also remember that for every TIS is equal to 1 point and every TIR (Time in Rate) is equal to 2 points. So take your raw score, plus TIS point, plus TIR points, plus award points that you have and that will be pretty close to you final multi. Thats just the way I'm reading it at least. Thanks for finding that pub Knelson, I lost my pubs CB.
I spent 9.5 years in the reserves and was given 13 months of active duty time which only applied to my Pay Base Date, it did nothing for my time in service.

Irrlevant question - you do not get to choose which one to take. If you are a reserve, even one on EAD, you take the RSWE. See COMDTINST 1141.3(series), which you should have nearly memorized if you are on EAD!
Now, if you are an AD member, who used to be a reservists, then ignore the post above from the RPM.
