According to an old post, last years cuts came out around September 25th or so. The same time as the shopping list. How convenient! I think it will be sooner since everything else this year has been quicker....eg: scores in DA, stats and the list came out sooner this year too. Hope that helps.

Well, since the only reason we actually do set advancement cutoffs is to help the Assignment Officers more accurately work their slates and management assignments, it makes perfect sense that the cutoffs would coincide with the shopping list release.

Well now you'd think that because the Coast Guard is now..."The Kinder Gentler Coast Guard" They may put it out there a bit earlier so that the member can prepare and actually throw some pics that he/she are actually going to DREAM for.

I have heard that statement a couple of times from folks on your side of the river shipmate, and it GREATLY dissapoints me! After all, the AOs has to 'plan' on clicking three buttons in DA. The MEMBER has to plan on selling a home, finding new employement for the spouse, school for the kids, sift through what may be able to go to the Salvation Army, etc etc. The Command has to review their Command Concerns, plan for fleet ups or new training, etc etc. Seems like EPM has the easiest job in all of this. I would sure hate to see a weak play come out like delay or zeroize all of the cuts over confusion of a certain initiative like what happened when we stood up the IS Rating. (Funny thing, that year when they published the cuts, it was ZERO for my OS1s, even though they had advanced FORTY of them EARLY and WELL BEFORE the cut message came out.

The word is that don't expect to see the cuts be much at all because they don't know who will be lateralling to ME.

I've heard anywhere between August and November. Most rates won't be affected by laterals, especially E7 and above. The problem is we all have to wait for the cuts. If the cuts come in at zero or very low, it should be for the rates that are directly affected by the ME rate

Word on the street from EMP2 is that the Cuts will not be out until December. Damn ME rate is slowing everything down for cuts. I guess they want to see whos going over before they release the cuts. How do I know this?? EMP2 just did a road show here at TRACEN Pet and passed this info.

I don't want to hear that either!

However, I don't believe it. If that was the case just about everyone who took the May 09 SWE would have to take the Nov 09 SWE as well.

They are going to have to let us know something..

Exactly. I'd like to know if I need to take the November servicewide. I'm pretty high up on the MK2 list, but there's always room for improvement. I'm really starting to not like this ME rating.

ALWAYS plan on taking the next servicewide. Even if you are #1. Crazy things have happened. You should always plan on taking a servicewide. Always. No if ands or buts.
