Just wondering if anyone has heard if there will be another revision to the 07' SWE or are we just waiting for the 08' SWE list to come out?
I am guessing we will see the 08' list by the end of August, if it follows the same pattern as past years? I'm sure there are lots of us out there wondering if/when we are making cheif. |

im hearing that there will be one more revision of 07 may SWE. the new 08 may cutoffs wont be out till october timeframe. All we can do is keep our eyes open..and continue to do our jobs w/ out distractions.

You would think it would be out before the shopping list is published. That way we would know what billets to put in for. I cannot believe how long it takes in the CG to find out if you are getting advanced or not.

I can't be positive of course, but I think the cuts will be out before the shopping list is published. Can you imagine the hassle for the detailers if not? Last year's fiasco was pretty bad with the amount of 0 cuts in August, I can't see that happening again.

I say no more revised cuts for May07 and the cuts for May08 will be released the last week of Dec. Hey, it works for the advancement list in some peoples mind.

The last revision for the 06 SWE was in either November or December of 07 if that gives you any clues.

...unless that was an attept at humor, or you were talking about the NOV 06 SWE, instead of the May, you need to check your facts. By Dec of 07, the May 06 SWE list would be terminated. |

I would suspect that that is the 'current project' of the person responsible for publishing it.
There is one person who handles Cuts, actual advancement messages (AD and USCGR) and several other related items. They have to wait for input from several sources, throw all of the info into the pot, let it boil and see what comes out in the stew. |

Master Chief, I had some questions that are somewhat related. The final May '06 SWE revised cut I could find was ALCGENL 096/07, the December EPAA (ALCGENL 190/07)authorized advancement for 6 AETC that hadn't made the posted cut. (Disclaimer: I don't have access to CG intranet so I may have missed something while relying on the PSC advancement and CG Reserve websites.) How were those 6 additional advancements authorized? How often does something like that happen? If it does/did happen, why aren't additional advancements added into the following advancement year instead? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a little insight. |

I'm still waiting for a revision of the NOV 07 cut. They revised the MAY 07 3 times already.

They did the same thing with several E-7's in the EM and MK world from the May 06 SWE. I personally know one of each. The December advancement came out and they were on it. For what ever reason they went a little beyond the final cut. EM1 |

I am in the same boat, The May got revised 3 times and yet I am still waiting on the NOV? The wait is killing me. |

Guessed wrong, I am higher on the May list though. Also I don't believe we should have all these revisions. If you don't make the cut try again next time. I am sure we would see the cut off msgs alot sooner if the person doing them didn't have to worry about revisions. The advancement process in the CG is extremely too slow. Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth.

Guessed wrong, just higher on the list for May. Besides this late in the game I still don't see any reason to still be talking about the NOV SWE. I think the only revisions should be E-7 and above. E-5 and E-6, if you aren't above the origional cut then take the test again. Just my opinion, I don't want anyone chewing my head off because I posted on here. I'm sure w

WHile I can agree that the advancement system is not the best. I cannot agree that there should be no revisions. The initial cuts are put out in advance and do not dictate the ever changing loss of personnel. You have to make some sort of revision to fill the needs of what changes happen throughout the SWE eligible period.

I didn't know I poster twice, oh well. For E-5 and E-6 the time is only 6 months between tests. I am sure we would be ok without a couple more of the next rank for that time. It's not like the revisions get advanced immediatley ya know? Oh well either way we are still just waiting and complaining until we see one of the msgs, whether it is a revision or initial
