You guys are talking about the Nov07 servicewide then? I was talking about being above the cut from the May and hoping the finish making us all in apr/may.
Not exactly sure on this but I know they have already cleared the orginal cut for May. I know they came out with the revised cut for May but, I think that advancement is only guaranteed to the orignal cut. Just something you may want to check on.
I am 3 away from making it on the May 07 Revised cut I am also #29 on the Nov 07 list. If they come out with a revised list then they will clear it. If I were you I would look at the revised cut and subtract those names if they took the Nov SWE. There not going to start advancement of the Nov SWE until the May 07 is clear.
The advancement is guaranteed to the revised cut, which is clearing the list. They are going to clear the May07 MK1 list. The original cut was 48, which was entirely too low, they revised the cut to 96, which guarantees all 96, pending they don't get in trouble, that they will make MK1 by/on 01Jun08. If they don't make all 96 by then, the ones left over will be put in front of those from Nov07, but this won't happen. Once the revised cut comes out, the orignial doesn't matter anymore. Not to step on any toes, but the advancement process should be something that is well known if anyone is getting ready to make first class. I also took the Nov07 servicewide, so you can remove my name from that list also for calculation purposes.
Wow, I figured a couple of more days before we saw anything. How many MKC's does that make this year? I am 44 well 39 since 5 made it off of last years. It is nice to see some advancements, a little scary in Jan and Feb. Congrats all!!!
12 so far, if your number 44 on the list, they actually made 6 in front of you last year. You are now 25 from making it. Lets see how it moves in the next couple of months. I am down the list at 83.

...Thus negating the aforementioned guarantee

You must have too much time on your hands. You should spend some more of that time working toward advancement. Nothing I said was incorrect, I explained the process, maybe you can use it to your advantage. As far as a "guarantee" it is just that. A pledge that something will be performed in a specified manner. The USCG can't see the future, so in the event they can't keep their end of the bargain, they carry over. Take care, shipmate.
