I hope more went into your decision to leave in this economy than just disliking your orders. Good luck to you.

Charlie, Guess you are thinking about getting out. Take a few weeks leave and see if you can find a job with Pay, medical bennies.for you and family, vacation time and other time off. I doubt you will. Guess Miami means alot to you. Just hope when your end of enlistment comes around you don,t suddenly love the CG. Detailers have a way of keeping notes and passing them on. Good Luck

hey guys.
Well 1st off orders were not the reason for getting out. my mind was made up prior to orders. had i gotten one of my top five or six, i would have kept quiet.
Second, "a job":
with the military experience and LE experience, (plus a college degree) our line of work is not ever going to be cut. PO-PO will always be needed. Gun
I am heading to CBP where starting base pay is over 45k/year plus overtime. Beer
Yes i have looked at the benefits, I've done my research. When you make enough money one can pay medical insurance and save for retirement. Plus the biggest one for me is I can go home EVERY night. When I'm off, I'm off. No saying bye to the family at the pier and see you in a month or so (for a measly paycheck to paycheck life)!!! Mad

I feel that i have served my country, will continue to do so in the reserve and on the front line with CBP.
for the economy: Luckily for me I'm not getting out to open up a Bank... don't be fooled by the news. the economy is hurting those who own more than they could ever afford.
Even better for me: I can go out and buy a house for way cheaper than ever!!!
So in short:
Thanks for your support if its there, if not enjoy your CG life. I had fun but its time for me to move on to bigger and better things. I hope the best everyday for my shipmates. There are a bunch of really good people in the CG, hopefully we will work side by side catching the bad guys.
Gun Cool
