I had a few conversations yesterday with one of the MK detailers and he stated that he works by priority, not rate. By this I mean, he works priority 1 first, then priority 2 and so on down to priority 5.
I have also heard of some MKC orders being cut, and I may be guessing here, but I believe that those orders that have been cut are of the guys that made the revised cuts for Chief and are transferring early. Just my guess on that one...
I geuss this means I might get orders by the beginning of March. I hope it is soon though. 3 years on a bouy tender is to long. I'll go back to a 378 before i do a 225 again.
I though bouy life is easy for a MK. I'm looking to go back to a station i was short tour i would love to get back to another shore unit and spend time with my family. I have been to three units two underway 378,taclet,station. well good luck to everyone
Underway life for a MK is easy on a bouy tender. I have a 7 month old daughter and i like to know what i am doing on a daily basis. The command cant even tell us what we are doing next week.
I talked to the detailer today, got bad info from someone at my unit. So I had to resubmit another dream sheet today. So hopefully I will hear something soon.
I lost my EPO recommendation to the wieght program. I had to resubmit my resume on the 1st of december, which was past the deadline. My EO called the detailer to talk about my priority and the detailer said my e-resume was unrealistic and 8 jobs was not enough. Some one told me that 8 would be enough in the beginning, I found out today was a lie. So now I have a resume with 20 jobs 14 of which are stations. I was hoping that I would not have to go to a station. There was only 3 ANT's open for 2nd class so hopefully i can get the only one that I want which is ANT St. Pete because I dont want to repeal out of helos in Alaska.
Yo Bird, thats sucks man. Sorry to hear that, there is a spot opening up on the PORT Crew of the Drummond. You would be my opposite, that is if you can handle the month on month off rotation. Call the detailer and tell him you found out about the CGC Drummond PORT crew opening. Hit me back when you can man. Give me a call if you need some more info. Take care bro. Mike
Hey man. Thanks for the info but I really dont feel like going to a boat again right now. When i transfer next summer I will have about 7 years in and about 6.5 years sea time. So i am trying to shot for a land job for a little bit.
