Yeah I am in the same situation as you strick. When I talked to the detailer a few weeks ago, he told me when the cuts come out, if you are above the cut, only put mk1 jobs on the eresume. If I was below the cut, put mk2 and mk1 jobs. So now the cuts are out and im above, so im only putting mk1 jobs. The reason we are advancing is because there are vacancies to fill, but I am still going to shoot him an e mail to just make sure. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to transfer as a 2nd class if you will be making 1st class sometime soon.

I just made it this month off of the May SWE. Was originally supposed to rotate 2010. Spoke with the detailer back in Sept. and he said to complete an e-resume and plan on rotating due to no fleet ups here at my unit as well.

Oh also, make sure you are keeping up with the msg traffic as it relates to AY09. They extended the command validation phase so the list is most accurate after 24 Oct. Also they added a new assignment factor into the process "fiscal stewardship", check out ALCGENL 146/08 (AY09 SITREP TWO) for some more information on that. Might be good news if you are trying to stay in the same area.

Yea I know Hobucken is in the middle of nowhere. My wife has special needs and New Bern has a great hospital. Plus we are both from NC, and I've already been in the Outerbanks, and in Fort Macon. I was hoping for Wilmington but it wasn't available. We will see. Hopefully we should be getting our orders here soon(Bahrain). Good luck to everyone.

Thats cool I figured you were from NC, same here. I used my pri1 from PATFOR to come here to the MSU in Wilmington. Was hoping to stay in the area but doesnt look good. Hoping I can hop to an isolated LORAN for a year and then use the pri 1 to come back here so I dont have to sell or rent my house. Or maybe go back to PATFOR for the pri2, just wish I didnt have to be shoreside as an MK1 there. What part of NC are you from, I was born outside Charlotte but grew up from about 4th grade on in the Topsail Island area

I was raised near Fayetteville, Hope Mills. I was hoping when I came out here that I would get Wilmington, but no luck. So I'll take the 65 hopefully make MKC and go from there. Patfor does have MK1's U/w. I was an MK1 before I went to PDT and my relief is an MK1. I don't know when you were here last but things have changed alot since this place was first set up. This was told to me by both EM1s on the boat I have had come thorough this boat. I would talk with MR Roberts and see what he can do. I transfer out in December, so maybe you can stay at your current unit until the Fall training session for PDT and you can come and be a Priority 1. I'm glad I got a boat. We have 2 other guys that are making MK1 onboard ships but because I've been an MK1 longer and have 6.5 years sea time out of 8 years I have priority over them. It's a great thing.

Cool, good stuff. When I was there the only MK1 u/w were the guys that got orders as a 2nd and advanced. Good luck with the 65, thats great duty. If I can get an u/w billet Id go back in a heartbeat. If not I would perfer an isolated LORAN over shoreside. Just dont want to have to deal with all the personnel issues ya know.
