I'm in search of the old Fireman's Course. The MK1 on my boat says that it was a pretty decent source of material, but it was written pretty poorly. Anyway, any help is appreciated. Thanks...

The one that MK1 remembers he said had a picture of a boat in the first few pages that was split up like a city. He's been in for 12 years I think so it's at least that old...

Roger that. I'll dig thru my old coarse material and see if I have a copy. Word of advice, NEVER, throw away course material. Some day you will come across a situation where you say "I saw that in my course material" and then "oh s@#t", I threw that away.

I can't believe that it can't be found online. I found the Navy Fireman Manual which is supposedly kind of similar, but would still like to find the CG version. Thanks, again!

Some times you just gotta go old school. Not everything will be found online. Its kinda like when you you sit there hitting the clicker on the remote and nothing happens, while your wasting time trying to figure out if the remote is dead, the old guy in the room just gets up and changes the channel.

dang... I wish I saw this earlier!

Just one hour ago, I was out in the garage cleaning up some boxes of old course material and cutter junk. Since most of it is almost 10 years old, and its just about all been redone since,, I took it out to the burn barrel and had a fire.

^^^ Wish you had seen it earlier, too!

I've even asked an MKCS around here and he says that he thinks he has it, but it is in really rough shape and wouldn't even be useable...

Edit: This is 11506022, by the way...

Did anyone contact the MK SME at Yorktown, He may have it all on a CD. If MKCM Haggerman was around I bet he'd have it. All my stuff went out the door when I retired. Not 100 % sure but try them, its worth a shot.

I've located and have a readable copy of the Fireman's Course. The date on it is 1990. If you want a copy, my email is c_beck93@hotmail.com...

Good news for everyone! Thanks to the Webmaster of http://www.mkshop.moonfruit.com/ the old FN course is being put into electronic form. I sent him a hard copy and he is in the process of converting it over. Right now the Main Prop section is up. Go to the site, click on "Study Guides" and click on "FN E-3" and from there you can print it out.

The other sections of the course are in the process of being converted as well.

Good day everyone. Just wanted to let you know that The MK Shop now has the old fireman course available in PDF format. Currently you can get the Main Prop, Damage Control, and Auxiliary sections. The "Hand Tools" part will be available by this weekend. A big thanks to Christian Beck, who is becoming a MK right now, for providing this material. Enjoy.
