Ok, the ME rate is coming. We all know MK's are going to make a huge majority of the rate, so who's going to try and lateral?

Count me as a MK defector. I will be trying to go ME.

Have fun being an ME. Just think you might end up back on the Gallatin after you switch over. Bet that would suck.

Anyone else think it's funny the LE rating are being called "ME's"? Very fitting based on most of the hardcore LE types I've known.

I'm jumping ship as well. A little over six years in and about to make 1st with ZERO MK experience. It is the only thing that I can do...

I would read everything that comes out carefully. I would bet that in this new world of having "MEs" will will find that the rating doing the most LE in the CG, will likely be - MKs, closely followed by BMs. Sometime WAY after that, will be MEs. If I were forced to put a number on it, I would bet that more than 85% of all boardings will be done without a single ME on the team. If I didn't have to risk any money on it, I would put that number above 95%.

The ME rating is not intended to be a panacea for ALL LE or ALL Boardings. It is a fairly narrow scope of certain types and conditions of boardings.

This very well could be true. However, for many people who have done nothing but LE for the majority of their careers, promoting past a certain point becomes difficult. For me, it isn't so much about doing all the boardings. It's more about being able to compete for promotion in the applicable job field.

How do you see the ME lateral from the E-7 thru E-9? If not too many lateral that could mean quick advancements into these paygrades? How soon will the CWO specialty come out?

True, True. However, being on the Gallatin as a ME and being on the Gallatin in Main Prop are two WWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY different jobs. I'll bet I would still go down into the hole though. There are parts of the job I will miss.

i agree with the above, i think most LE will be done by MKs and BMs...but the more narrow scoped (faster paced) LE like MSRT and MSST teams will be ME personnel. I have never been in rate so i hear alot about it and that keeps being said.....take a look at the EPME materials, they are kind of boring, as a third at a VBST, i have completed almost everything to E-7..... even then i might not go ME, as the re-enlistment bonus is enough for me to stay, and i'll finally get to do what i went to school for.
