Has anyone received info on cutting 3 CD sized holes into the cover of the RB-HS heater to improve airflow? The RB-HS heater priming instructions show holes cut into the cover, but I can't find any SB's or CC's that tell us to do so. I was just wondering because the holes would improve the heaters operating abilities. The way it is now offers very limited airflow and we always seem to be having problems. Anyway, just checking. Thanks.

I don't have an RBHS, I run an RBS, but our heater has three 2 1/2" to 3" holes cut in the front side of the cover. It does help airflow a hell of a lot, until that is, the glow plug goes out on you. Then all you get is cold air. Different boat, but I thought it might give you something. Good luck!

thanks for the reply. There never was a boat alt for us to add those holes, and we constantly have trouble with the heaters. Sadly we cant add the holes cause STAN would have a hissy. The age old tale: "Better isn't always standard!"
