Please disregard my last post. I have another question. When is the HEALY program going to be added to the personnel manual? At this point, members being assigned to the HEALY Mat or the ship are walking into a 7 YEAR contract and don't even know it until they have been issued orders. The Personnel Manual states that members completing a full tour on an icebreaker will receive a Priority 2. With the understanding that Priority is only one assignment factor, maybe special programs like the HEALY should be added to the list as well, so that people understand what a full tour on the HEALY is.

Good Morning hankmk2,
This reply may assist you, and other Member's requesting an overseas assignment. I believe that your E-Resume will not qualify you for an overseas assignment. Like many other Member's, you will have that "deer in the headlight look" when you find out that you are staying stateside. Prior to requesting overseas assignments, members are reminded to conduct pre-screening of requirements in accordance with PERSMAN CH 4.H and include a statement to that effect in your E-Resume Member's Comments. Basically if I do not see this required statement in your comment's, that tells me that you have not followed directions, and you would not qualify for an overseas assignment. Here is an example question: How many Dependants are referenced for an E-5 as per PERSMAN 4.H.6.b. Family Size Guideline? Answer: E-1, E-2, E-3, E-4 - 1 Dependent E-5 - 2 Dependents If we remove your Alaska billet picks, and your E-6 billet picks (May 09 SWE?), you and I know how many are left, and where you currently stand. If you have further questions, please have your Command Rep contact me. v/r, ENG3 Keith Bopp MK GULF 8TH District Assignment Officer |

Good Morning,
As the Priority 3 MK1s are making posting about orders they are receiving, everyone can tell where we are in the slating. A revision to the May SWE is still needed before we can consider an assignment to the next higher pay grade, for members who are currently not in the cut. Currently there are a few members remaining on the MK2 list, and 17 on the MK1 list. Popular question this week - Yes, your spouse is considered to be your Dependent. Please check Direct Access to make sure your last set of marks are posted. If you are enrolled in Special Needs, have you reviewed your billet picks with Work Life? We can not issue your orders until your assignment is cleared with Work Life. If you are going TAD, consider turning on your out of office assistant. Please check Direct Access to make sure your contact numbers are up to date. Please verify that your Global phone number is correct. For those of you who have a Watch Stander answering the phone, now is a good time to make sure they know who your Assignment Officer is, and what to do in the event that we call. I have a number of sea stories when it comes to this situation. Trust me on this one. v/r, ENG3 Keith Bopp MK GULF 8TH District Assignment Officer |

After researching all the posts and replies, this might be for the MK force manager or for next years assignment season.
Is all surf stations or at least D13 47 MLB Surf stations going to increase the EPO positions that are now at the E6 level to MKC? I am up for transfer next year with 4 EPO jobs, 3 of which are MLB Surf stations, with the modernization and LTPIO going into everyones cereal to eat, is a person like me with over 10 years in the 47 MLB community destined to stay in this field if I choose to? Thanks again, this is really a more transparent Coast Guard. MKC Jeff Siron EPO Station Umpqua River |

For us Pri-5 MK1's:
1. How up to date is DA being kept? 2. If we are already down to a few jobs remaining still open what should we be doing if anything? This message has been edited. Last edited by: JLMK, |

You know you guys have ruined this discussion for everyone. In the begging, if you guys would read the entire post, there is a section stating that this is for general AY questions and not for personal questions. The detailers went out of there way to try and keep us in the loop. The very first question was personal and just about every other one as well. I have been stewing over this for days. If you would happen to notice the BM’s have a topic like this as well, they follow the rules why can’t we. It never surprises me anymore that people just don’t listen or pay attention, and then get mad when liberty is held up.

Sir-
Have the AO's started slating MK2 Priority 3's yet? If so when should we start seeing orders? |

Good Morning Chief Siron,
I can relate to your question, as I was at Station Gloucester for the Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) for the Pre Production CG 47205. After that assignment, I was the MK1 at the 47' MLB Project Resident Office (PRO) in New Orleans. I would tend to think that any restructuring for EPO billets at Surf Stations, would have been identified by now. Your question is like looking in the rear view mirror, to see where we have been. Now if we look back out the front window, we see modernization and LTPIO as you mentioned. I also see that we now have OT&E ongoing for the new 45' Response Boat - Medium (RB-M). Perhaps the question should be how will the RB-M affect EPO billets in the future? Basically if a unit were to upgrade their EPO billet from MK1 to MKC, then another unit would have to decrease, from an MKC billet, to an MK1 billet. Our MK Rating Force Master Chief, MKCM Della Rocco would be the person to ask questions like this. v/r, ENG3 Keith Bopp MK GULF 8TH District Assignment Officer |

Sir,
The May 08 revision came out today. My question is regarding the people that are making it off of the new revised cuts, who are not due to transfer. Should they email their detailers and put in E-resumes now, or wait for a call from their detailer with a list to pick from? Thanks in advance. MK2 Webber MSST Honolulu |

goofygregg, make sure to read through the information already supplied. Mr. Roberts answered this question on the very first page:
"Everyone that has been identified for advancement and are transferring are considered a AY transfer regardless of whether or not you are being short toured due to advancement. My suggestion for everyone is if there is a doubt on whether or not you are transferring due to advancement is to contact your unit POC and get a hold of the detailer. There is never a guarantee that we are just going to leave you there, and never assume that just because we have not heard from you that we don't have you on our radar, because we normally do...bleep...bleep...bleep... I hope that this answers your questions." I am also relatively sure that if you don't have an e-resume on file your priority will go out the window. Which since we are already in the transfer season will be affected anyway. Don't worry, the same thing happened to me last year and I had to put in a dream sheet in the middle of January. |

Sir,
If a member wants to extend at his or her current billet and another member has that job on their E-resume, who gets the job if these two members have the same priority? |

Good Afternoon All. I know that it has been a little while since our last post and we do apologize about this. We have been insanely busy as of late, especially with the release of the Revised Cuts. So here is the hottest news currently on the press as well as our current status:
We have completed the MKC slate. We are in the process of issuing the remaining orders from the MKC slate. Those members that did not win anything on their E-Resume, or have just recently been identified for advancement, will be contacted shortly with a supplemental list. We have completed all MK1 priority 1-3 assignments. We will begin slating MK2 priority 3's by the end of this week, and will follow on with the slating of MK3 priority 3's. There is currently a critical solicitatiion on the message board for MK1's. The Revised Cuts have been issued and is on the message board. We have no idea as to when the November SWE cuts will be released. goofygregg - Congrats - You own the question of the week. This is also the reason that nobody has really heard from us. One of the hardest part of our jobs is identifying those people above the cut that we are planning to move on, those that we are going to fleet up, and those that we are going to keep at their current unit. We do try to keep people at their current units as much as possible, especially those that have just arrived. However, advancements are made to fill vacancies. Therefore, we just can't afford to keep everyone at their current unit. Unit POC's should contact either the AO, or the CAC, if there are any questions as to the member's status due to advancement. If you did not have an E-Resume on file for the AY due to possible advancement, and we are rotating you, then we will contact you with a supplemental list to choose from. JBjunior - You hit the nail on the head. This was stated earlier and I appreciate your input. babyedoll125 - This post gives you your answer....People please stop posting this request...When we are in a position to post updates - we will. 18422460 - It is hard to say when we don't know who you are. Your best bet is to talk to your command POC. They can contact us and we can offer you individually tailored career advice, which everybody should think about prior to the assignment season. However, as a priority 5, 20 picks really does not give us a lot to work with and it is probably why DA only shows 4picks currently open. Diablonegro112 - Extensions are pretty cut and dry. Should the member be endorsed by the command, and this is your first extension request, then only mbr's with higher priority then you should win the position. If you are already on an extension and are competing for a second extension, then anyone else competing for this position will win. The one caviat is if we have already identified a fleet up for this position. Then you are moving on. We hope that this answers your questions...We have heard nothing but good things when we are out at different venues concerning Fred's place and we hope that everyone reading this agrees and appreciates the visibility that we are attempting to provide everyone in the fleet. Our Best to All, and Congratulations to all those identified for Advancement. V/R, CWO John Roberts MK Assignments |
