ok so i have a steering issue on my 47, when i use joysticks on each station and helm pump i get 33 degrees to port and 36 degrees to starboard. I have gone on netims dowloaded the hypro marine hydrualic assist manual and followed the steps. So yeah i dont have air in the lines and i reset the steering to zero. next step was adjusting rv1, rv2, and rv3 the only problem is that these instructions are not the best. Anyone have any suggestions on how to equalize steering or get 35+/-1? My next step will be calling MLB stan in Washington.
There's been a lot of discussion about this over at the engineering forums on the MLC PAC website. I don't remember the exact fix, but it's in the MLB discussion board.
Right I defiantly understand the enthusiasm. The steering is off by 1 degree and I am still waiting from STAN engineers to confirm and compare notes. But yeah trust me I am very excited and confident that this issue will be resolved.
Something like that happened to our 47' a while ago and actually we ended up adjusting the calibration in the unit located inside the engine room on the port side against the forward bulkhead. Different set screws control the rudder angle indicators in all the streeting stations.
Well I adjusted those small screws I found a lot of info here and through MLCPac forum as previously suggested. The instructions are definitely not the best, but engineers in the coast guard are the best and we managed to decipher the code. I appreciate all the help.
