Basic Training |
Need a little advice. Me and the family are going to the Chicago area for a Cubs game. WE are flying into Gary, IN. Lookign for some areas to stay at that are safe and close to the trains to get to the game. Any help would be nice.

I think the most dangerous leg of your journey is getting out of the Gary Airport!
Seriously, the South Shore Line will take you from the Gary Airport into Millenium Station (downtown Chicago). Below is a link and a quote from a new shuttle service at Gary Airport:
South Shore Line Just FYI, Ground Zero in downtown Chicago is Madison/State. Everything north of Madison is "N." and goes up, everything south of Madison is "S." and goes up also. Same goes with State regarding "E." and "W." From the Millenium stop, walk west to either Washington/State or Lake/State and catch the CTA Howard/Dan Ryan Red Line north, get off at the Addison exit and walk one block west to the park. As for a hotel/motel, prices range vastly in the city, go with what you can afford. I'll let you search for that, I don't want to take all the fun away from you researching your trip! Good luck!
