Sir:
I don't know your tastes but here are some cheap ideas. China Gate Dim Sum in Chinatown. Ride to Bremerton on WA state ferry. $6.70 walk-passenger. See the (free) Navy Musuem in Bremerton (you can walk). See the (free) Underwater Museum in Keyport (need car). Return at night to see Seattle at night. (free west to east). CG Museum on board CG base (free). Ask to visit the basement. Pike Place Market (interesting to observe) Ye Old Curiousity Shoppe (for grammarians, the "ye" is pronounced "the"). (interesting shop) Eatery at Uwajimaya Grocery Store in Chinatown. |

You forgot to mention Starbuck's Coffee. I never really cared for it myself.

Under ground Seattle, catch a Teatro ZinZanni Seattle show, http://dreams.zinzanni.org/, see the Freemont Troll, Archie McPhee's, and numerous other weird places to list. So many GOOD restaurants that you will have a hard time making your mind up which one to try. Walk down 4th street and people watch.

Definitely the Underground Tour. It starts at Pioneer Square, which is a neat place to check out as well.
h t t p : // w w w.undergroundtour.com/ (sorry, cannot post active links here) The Seattle Center is a great place to spend some time as well, the Space Needle is there, as well as a small amusement park, the Seattle Science Center, the Experience Music Project, and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame h t t p : // w w w.seattlecenter.com/ Lots of great restaurants, too many to list... but check out Kell's Irish Bar just off of Pike Market in "Post Alley". One of the best authentic Irish establishments I've ever been to. When are you going? |

I have the greatest memories of living in Seattle! Owl & Thistle!
Pioneer Square is a great time lots of bars and cafes. Maybe go down to the U of Wash for some fun, comedy clubs, more night life there. Obviously you could do the above mentioned touristy stuff, always fun. Alaskan Way on the waterfront is full of shopping and souvenir shops. Lake Washington has some good stuff around it as well. The Westlake Mall area on 4th St, has more shopping. Have Fun!! Have Fun!!! |

Hey, thanks to all, for the tips and suggestions. We are looking forward to going out there to visit our Son and his Cutter while they are down from Alaska for repairs. We will be going in April. I know, far from summerlike weather, but its a vacation. Thanks again. A proud Coastie Dad.

I like to eat at Lemon Grass Thai when I'm up that way.
The W Hotel Lobby bar is pretty swanky and is always frequented by celebrities. A nice relaxing place to hang out an people watch. On 2 separate trips up there I saw Eddie Veder and most of the Phoenix Suns at the W bar. Good times. Cheers! |
