Ok so me and my fellow Coasties here in Louisville KY have come up with a genius idea to go find new and interesting restaurants every week, eat there and rate the restuarant on different things like food quality, service and so on. Our first pick of restuarants to find and eat at are BBQ places around town (Louisville KY). After we eat at all of the BBQ restuarants we are moving to "Hole in the walls" which should be interesting. We just started this and so far have ate at zero one BBQ place which was Hickory House BBQ in Louisville KY. The place had excellent smoked meat, good price and fast service. I challenge all of my fellow coasties all over the United States to join in on the Conquest of finding awesome places to eat. This way while traveling or newly reporting to different areas you can have a heads up on all of the hot spots to eat! I will be posting here every week on our findings and also our ratings. Until next time!

Erie,Pa. NY lunch on 10th & East Ave. Best Greek hot dog or burger ever. Would eat there in high school, at that time each were .10 cents. Now they are around a $1.25. Everytime when I pass through I stop and eat and buy 1/2 gallon of sauce to bring home.

Wray, sure am. It is now a sector and I work on the boat forces side (not downtown). I have noticed a lot of White Castles here! Haven't eatin at one yet but I know I probably will!

Shallowwater, that place sounds good! Can't beat a good dog or burger!

For those who are strict with their diets...forget this place. But, if you want a great Bacon Cheeseburger, Chili Dog or Chili Cheese Fries, Gilley's hidden in downtown Portsmouth, NH is the place to go. Big Grin

Today we ate at yet another good BBQ place. It is called "Bootleg BBQ" in Louisville KY. Good selection, fair pricing and excellent BBQ! Until next week.

Josh,
How did I guess you were at an MSO... Wink You know the "M" motto: "You have to go out to lunch, but you don't have to come back"... I'm sure you have heard that one.. funny part is.. It's true!

When in Daytona you need to try this one:

I have friends that ride up here on their motorcycles, (100 mile trip for them) just for lunch.. Big GrinBig Grin Of course being the good host I am.. I join in!Razz

If you are ever in Key Largo, FL, try Mrs. Macs . A local radio station has annual contests for the locals to vote in favorite steak, favorite burger, favorite Margarita...you get the idea.

Year after year, Mrs. Macs wins "Favorite Grouper Sandwich". Yep...they are indeed AWESOME!

It's located at MM99 Bayside, alongside US1 in the Southbound lanes. (at least I hope it's still there. I haven't been to the Keys since '01)

Give this one a try...

Check out their menu on line.....

This one one of my favorites there:
Brie & Pecan – Spinach and romaine mix tossed in a poppy seed dressing, topped with warm Brie and spicy seasoned roasted pecans. 10.75

Making me hungry thinking about it.

Ramiro & Sons in Alameda, CA. Went here so often after a good day of surfing that they started acknowledging my presence as soon as I walked in at the end of the line and asked if I'd have the "Same" which was a Carne Asada Super Burrito! Yumm
