Hi, just looking for food recomendations near the Fleet Center. Going to a Celtics game with my Son when he comes home on Christmas leave. Could anyone suggest a GOOD Italian rest. within walking distance from the Fleet Center. Looking for anything good really, but I know his first choice will be Italian. Thanks in advance!

You can't go wrong with the "no name resturant" out on Pier 4 near the USCG district offices. Although it's more along the seafood lines, than Italian. It's a little tricky to find, but if you ask someone in the neigborhood, they'll point you in the right direction! If you make it there don't forget to try the chowdah! -Jeff

Try getting a table at "Il Panino's", it is just off of Hanover street in the No End. Very classic Italian food enjoyed with and served by some very nice folks of Italian heritage.

Ernesto's,
The best pizza I've found in the North end.
There's a million different topping configurations on slices pre-made (that day), but I still reccomend ordering a whole pie if there's two or more people, nice and fresh.

Downfalls? Well... it's really kind of a dive... small and doesn't look like much. They do have beer and wine, but nothing fancy.
If you go to Ernesto's, your going for the pizza... and that's the bottom line.

If you DO order slices, ask them to leave them in the oven a little longer than usual... so they're nice and melty.

Dammit I'm going there tomorrow!!!!!!!

My daughter is the hostess at #9 Park. Tell her you know her father and get a good seat, it's a very popular restaurant.

Faneuil Hall has all kinds of great food. Raw oysters, awesome pizza, etc.

I don't know if it's even still there but back in the '80s, we use to go to (attempting to spell it) Guadala Harry's which had great Mexican food.

Our usual hangout there while back on the Chase (83-84) was Cityside, the bar on the lowest floor of Fanuel Hall.

Al Dente Ristorante,109 Salem Street.
Bova's Bakery, 134 Salem Street.

Went to both today. Good food and attentive staff.

True Italian cuisine, of course.

Mama Maria's, which is very close to Paul Revere's house in the north end, is my favorite restaurant in the area. It is pricey, but I always have an amazing meal there.
