Some of you guys are much more experienced then me on traveling, so I thought I would throw this out for some advice. My son bought a truck in Connecticut and because his leave has expired before his title came in, I'm going to take my Christmas vacation and drive his rig out to Nellis AFB in Vegas. I'm going to leave Connecticut on December 23rd. How far south should I go to avoid weather before I can start heading West?
You'll have to watch the weather when the time comes... sometimes winter weather can make it all the way down to texas. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into making your way south to the 40 if there is weather comming. anyhow weather will play the biggest role in your route, whether you head south immediately, or more gradual SW route. But good luck that's a beautiful drive!
