We are planning a trip to Disneyworld this transfer season and I have heard alot about different plans or deals that are out there. Does anyone have any preference? or more importantly does anyone have any experience with finding the all elusive ultimate Disney deal? We have not officially decided on DisneyLand (Anaheim) or Disneyworld (Orlando. Thanks for any help
Well, I can tell you that Seaworld and Busch Gardens in Orlando have been giving free and/or discounted admission to folks with an ID card. It's been going on for a couple years now. As fas as Disney, get a room at Shades of Green in Orlando, (military only resort)Shades of Green and I believe there is discounted admission packages through them.
Stayed at Shades of Green for my honeymoon last year. We stayed for 4 nights and got a 3 day parkhopper for Disney and access to the Magic Hours. It was the gold leaf package and it was around $1100. This included lunch and dinner at the resort's restaurants. You get free shuttle service to and from Disney attractions. Discounted tickets for Universal and Islands of Adventure I think around $60 for adults. Lots of stuff to do at the resort for the kids and it's right on one of Disney's three golf courses across from the Polenisian (sp?).
Thanks jaf, I started searching a bit and it's looking like $1200.00 - $1500.00 for 4 days/nights for 2 adults and 2 kids! Not too shabby considering I can remember when Disney was completely unafordable. Thanks for the post.
Just thought of something else. When you goto the amusement parks, look into a Disney or Universal Meal Pass. This will save you alot of money when it comes to eating at the parks. MAKE RESERVATIONS for ANY sit down restaurants, if you don't you most likely won't get a table. Guest Services will usually help you with this. Universal and Islands of Adventure has Express Pass for all attractions/shows. This lets you bypass the normal line for less wait time. Disney calls it a Magic Pass. Universal's can be bought as a entire day pass ($20-$30) for unlimited use or at each ride for one time use. Disney is a one time use for each ride and is free. Anheuser-Busch is honored to salute the men and women of our armed forces and their families. Throughout 2008, members of the military and as many as three direct dependents may enter any one of Anheuser-Busch's SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place parks with a single-day complimentary admission.
Duck thanks for the heads up! Jafo I just realized something I think, didn't you teach seamanship at CM in 99? The name rang a bell! I've been wrong before!
Originally posted by jafo3: Yes I did teach Seamanship and Fire School from 97-01. I was a BM3 then. Now a BM1 and headed to STA Stillpond as STA Supervisor.
Yeah I remember going through in 99, You have one of those names thats tough to forget, and then I saw CM on your unit history. Good deal! Congrats on the orders, That should be a great gig!
We stayed at a place called Summer Bay Resort. Went thru the armed forces vacation club $329 for the week. Full kitchen, living room, dining room, kids had there own room, and our room had a hot tub. Heres the link www.afvclub.com
I highly recommend looking into armed forces vacation club (afvclub.com) before wasting all that money on Shades of Green.
You can choose (depending on availability) of 1, 2 and even 3 bedroom suites at resort hotels. actually, they are time-shares that are being unused.
Best of all it's $329 for the ENTIRE WEEK. Not kidding. We've stayed at the Silver Lake Resort (located just a mile from Animal Kingdom) twice and at Celebration World REsort once. Both were very nice.
