I'm 4'22" or 23".
My Father used to tell people who asked his height, 5'21".

Yes

I've got some paperwork that says 5'10" and others that say 5'11"

I just know I'm shorter than my Mom was. She was 6'1". Thank God, I'm not as tall as my Dad.

I'm exactly 6', but I nearly always wear cowboy boots, so everybody thinks I'm 6' 2".

I'm three inches short of being DQ'd on Height I'll leave it for all you short folks to figure that out.

Oh and let me refute some of the Army BS towards tall people while I'm in this thread.

1. Legspan has nothing to do with faster running times (it's practice and distance running like everyone else). If it did then shorter Soldiers should be able to do more pushups.....think about it.

2. Tall people do not all like Basketball or were past star players on the Basketball team.

3. The M113 and Bradley do not have enough headroom for any human being.

4. Telephone Pole PT needs to be banned Army wide.

5. NBC or Mopp Suits need to fit everyone accepted for enlistment in the Army. Telling a Soldier to hold their breath in lieu of a properly fitting suit for almost 5 years and 3 different Army component units.....is BS.

6. Tall people were not born for the express purpose of carrying the M60 (I guess this is the SAW now) on a road march, patrol, or movement......short people can carry it too.

OK, off my soap box now. Big Grin

Army height limits must be pretty easy to get around. We had 2 guys in our company that were over 80 inches. One guy was 6'10".

I believe your theory in number 1 is wrong. Assuming that your body proportions are normal, push ups are dictated by your weight and chest/arm strength. Pretty much you have to lift your own weight regardless of how tall or short you are so you it takes the same amount of energy to perform.

Whereas, a longer legspan compared to a shorter person differs in average length from foot to foot that touches the ground with each shift of the foot. To sum up, because a taller person's legs are longer, his steps are "typically" further than that of a smaller individual thus allowing him to require less steps and go further with each thrust than his shorter counterpart.
