I was recently on Facebook and found this posted in the discussion board. Thought everyone would want to see this....

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee. So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground fighting ! street -to-street and house-to-house.If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you can discard it and no one will never know. Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when I deploy once more.Semper Fidelis..Sgt. Howard C. Wright1st Force Recon Co1st Plt PLT PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS . ALLOW IT TO BE PASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR NOT! ! !Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit the firefighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water for the survivors and workers and Starbucks charged them!JUST A NOTE TO THIS; STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS. GO GET 'AMERICA . STAND-UP FOR OURSELVES!

The power of internet rumors.

This has long ago been proven as a hoax.

I still remember that thread in Hot Topics where a tent burned down in Iraq (think it was the Marines) and some lady was collecting donations to replace their TA-50 and their tent.

As if they wouldn't get new issue.

More than likely it is an internet rumor, but would anyone in this thread be surprised if it wasn't? I'm not sure about other parts of the Country but in mine Starbucks caters to the most liberal of consumers. With today's arrogance, I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

That being said, I'm not painting my picket sign as we speak.

We need to start a protest.
Please send me a lot if money.
I can get some poster board and make signs.
Send me more money and I can get a vehicle to travel to Starbucks.
Send me even more money and I will hire people to walk in front of Starbucks carrying the signs I took to them in the new car.
So, please please send me money.

True. This has been circulating for the past 7 years now, possibly 8. Snopes debunked this mythical letter as has the owner of Starbucks here in Seattle.
No truth to it, but it sure gets a lot of panties in a bunch. Wink

One of these rigs needs to be issued to every squad in every unit! The guy humping the coffee would stay next to the LT and RTO.

How do we get unit TO&E changed?

We got plenty of donated Starbucks coffee while I was over. Every unit that was stationed near me got a few cases at the post office so this is just another sheeple post.
