What I may find entertaining. This smegma drip is local to Dallas.
Is it my imagination, or does this guy look alot like Nazi Dr. Josef Goebbels?

This guy is wearing Infantry Blue on his Company Grade Dress Blue Cap. WRONG! Bronze Star ahead of DSC, WRONG! No CIB, WRONG! No service ribbons other than reserve, WRONG! No branch insignia on lapels. WRONG! No regimental affiliation crest above name tag. WRONG! That uniform is about as messed up as a soup sandwich.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the scoop on this guy...

I am his recruiter. He is from Morocco and enlisted under the 09L translator program. He enlisted in the IRR and has not been shipped to BCT yet.

He contacted me this morning regarding this situation. He assured me that he is proud to be an American Soldier and did not intend to offend anyone. I told him to cease all wearing of Army uniforms until he ships to BCT.

In my opinion, I think he was showing off to family and friends that he was in the Army. You guys have scared him ****less, lol. I think he gets your point.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me anytime at 972-242-1710.

Probably did. I think the SFC is legit and it's a legit post that he has it under control.

It's easy to see how this type of activity starts.
I can see a brand new private that had not been to Basic Training yet going to a civilian function where all military members are encouraged to wear uniforms.
They take the time to put together class As as close to accurately as possible, letting folks know they had not yet been to Basic if they're asked. Alas, they get carried away, they like the attention, the pus&y that comes with it...
I understand it. It's still wrong though. If they get caught, it's because they have stolen valor from a REAL servicemember. They have denigraded the integrity of honorable veterans. I don't care where he's from or what his story is. if his IQ is above 6, he should have known better.
My opinion.

Help me understand this - this guy is in the process of enlisting, he pulls this stuff, and we are still going to take him anyway? Is that what the SFC is saying?

O4Syoper-
If you reread my posting, you'll see that I said he enlisted in the 09L translator program. He is awaiting his ship date to BCT.

Again, the issue is resolved and the applicant understands why his actions caused such high emotions from Veterans.

If you have any questions, call me.

SFC Ellison, with all due respect as far as reading - after seeing this individual wearing Major shoulder boards, this is what I went back and "reread" before replying to your post:

Article 134 - (Impersonating a commissioned, warrant, noncommissioned, or petty officer, or an agent or official)

(1) That the accused impersonated a commissioned, warrant, noncommissioned, or petty officer, or an agent of superior authority of one of the armed forces of the United States, or an official of a certain government, in a certain manner;
(2) That the impersonation was wrongful and willful; and
(3) That, under the circumstances, the conduct of the accused was to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces or was of a nature to bring discredit
upon the armed forces.

Nature of offense. Impersonation does not depend upon the accused deriving a benefit from the deception or upon some third party being misled, although this is an aggravating factor.
Willfulness.

“Willful” means with the knowledge that one is falsely holding one’s self out as such.

Frankly, I'm amazed that he is (a) getting off with an apology and a promise not to do it again (b) still being shipped to BCT (c) being put in an MOS that certainly appears to require a higher level security clearance.

I can only assume that there is much more to the story, so I'll rely on your judgement in that case.

Listen up folks

I have contacted the recruiting office listed above. SFC Ellison is in fact a recruiter. I haven't yet confirmed it was he who posted this but I will know shortly. The email on file with mil.com is an army.mil recruiting address.

I'm not going to address any issue with misrepresentation as claimed in the thread. I just want to point out that 22797801 seems to be legit and I will know shortly.

Regardless of what any law says, "intent" is a key component. Others can decide intent. We only see a photo and have no idea what the intent was.

I suggest everyone just cool down. Nothing is going to be solved in this thread. Everyone has already made their points known. If the recruiter is legit, he can deal with this issue. We need not take this any further on this site, as far as I am concerned.

UPDATE: I just received a call from the recruiter office and SFC Ellison did, in fact, post these comments. Let's leave this to him to handle. I think the potential recruit has learned a valuable lesson. Wink
