It's been a while since I've been authorized to wear a flight suit. I need to wear one this weekend and wanted to find out the latest wear guidelines. I'm in a joint unit and don't know any other Army folks who currently wear one.

1. Are tan (certified for flight) boots authorized with the green nomex flight suit?
2. Is leather still the only authorized name plate type? (Our AF and USN aircrew members wear embroidered name tags in the unit's colors, but Army used to only wear the black leather kind)
3. Is the tan t-shirt worn with the green nomex flight suit?

Thanks much!

I think the wear out date for the green and tan flight suit has already expired. You would be out of regs if you wore one.

In answer to your questions:

1. Yes, tan boots are authorized.
2. Officially, leather - but a lot of guys in my unit have cloth embroidered.
3. As long as the shirt is 100% cotton it can be tan or green. Green is more common because most tan shirts are not 100% cotton.

HOWEVER... as stated above the green flight suit is no longer authorized for wear. The A2CU is now the only authorized flight suit.
