I have not seen any reg or memo or diretive of the wear of the A2CU. Most just assume that it is worn as the ABDU. Nothing is on paper, so i should be able to put any patch i want on it, make the jacket look like a hells angels biker jacket if i wanted to. Please, if anyone can prove me wrong, give me a source.

A active duty Sergeant shouldn't be asking this type of question. This IS something you should already know

What are A2CUs?

And what you're looking for is AR 670-1. It even has pretty pictures so you don't have to strain yourself trying to learn how to read.

Although not fully proscribed in a regulation, the Army Aviation Combat Uniform (A2CU) is a uniform item and should be worn in that matter.

Here is one reason why:

quote:
One program that has generated interest among aircrew members is the new Army aircrew combat uniform (A2CU). The A2CU is an aircrew variant of the new Army combat uniform (ACU) issued to Soldiers. It is designed to replace the current Army battledress uniform (ABDU) (both woodland and desert patterns) and will have the same digital pattern as the ACU, the universal camouflage pattern (UCP).

"Aircrew variant" infers w/out spelling it out that it should be worn in accordance with current regulations regarding the ACU/patches etc.

The above information quoted was excerpted from a .mil website, seen below.

https://crc.army.mil/Multimedia/magazines/flightfax/2006_issues/ffjuly2006.doc

or the color version:

https://crc.army.mil/Multimedia/magazines/flightfax/2006_issues/ffjuly06.pdf

Now with that if you really want to know what the current take is on the A2CU, message this soldier:

POC FOR UNIFORM POLICY BRANCH IS SGM K. EASLEY, DSN 225-5287, COMM
(703) 695-5287. E-MAIL IS KATRINA.EASLEY@HQDA.ARMY.MIL.

BTW, The OP is also really who he states he is in his profile. This is the first I heard of A2CU's , so I learned something today. Smile

I hope this whole profile thing is fixed in 2008 and if I were a betting man.....well stay tuned. Beer
