One is a patch with the Number 2 on it. The upper half of the number 2 is red and the bottom is white.

The other patch is a polar bear head (white) with a gold star above it...all on a blue background.

Top one is 2nd Army.

I've seen the polar bear patch but I don't know it was for, but I do know it had something to do with Alaska before it was a State.

redleg13f answered both your patch questions on your post last night. You acknowledged his answers and thanked him.
So why ask the same questions again?

Because you obviously are a much more tech savy person than myself, you will notice that I asked this question before answering and thanking redleg13f that's why you see it posted twice.

Thank you for pointing this out and I appreciate your efforts to keep tabs on these type of things!

Let me tell you a little about the POLAR BEAR PATCH that was talked about by shuman14.
I was station at FT.WAINWRIGHT that was at FAIRBANKS, ALASKA.
That patch was a shoulder patch and representrd the ALASKA DEFENSE COMMAND worn on my uniform.
I was station at FT.WAINWRIGHT from 1960 to 1962. They started using this patch as early as the 1943.
I believe it isn't used anymore.
I hope I help clear this issue up.

It's still used, and it's about the only thing that's older than this thread.

WEBSITE

The Alaska rocker or tab is fairly rare in its original form. Try ebay.
