It is old news, but interesting nonetheless...

Did anyone EVER see the old "GAS" brassards worn?

I am at Fort Leonard Wood and I have seen some of the Chemical people where the patch.

The only thing I think is that they had patch envy from the MPs! I wonder if that will lead the other branches to have patch envy?

I've seen it in Korea in limited use.

I never seen the old "GAS" brassard, ever.

When I was deployed, I was the BDE EWO (Electronic Warfare Officer). I made EWO patches for the CREW Specialists to keep them motivated. Yes,it was unauthorized - but it was to help educate others and the Soldiers liked it.

Now, when I was asked what EWO stood for, I just told them it meant "Every Womans Obsession".

Enough said.

I remember when the ACU first came out and we got them a few days before deployment. All of our battalion S shops had S-X patches.

Our 1SG just has a "ceremony" for our 74D to wear her CBRN patch. This is pretty ridiculous but I've seen worse. Such as the CID patches or the O-6s wearing EOD. I mean, seriously, sir, how many IEDs did you reduce this week?

I'm fighting for my MI brassard or even one that has my security clearance on it.

In our defense, I don't know any actual CID that wear the brassard. Its always the battalion commanders who aren't agents.
