The 11th ACR was/is the best unit patch I was ever with.

7ID is also a very simple and striking patch but my all time favorite is the 32d Inf Div (now Brigade Combat Bunch or something). One of the original patches from WW1, it symbolizes the division's ability to pierce the enemy line. Simple, single color, distinctive shape and it tells a story; what else would you want?

Ditto on the 32nd, if it's the older version that is cut to the shape of the arrow. Otherwise: Berlin Brigade.

Speaking of which, I hope the 32nd's CSIB reverts back to the shape instead of the arrow on a green background.

I think the 172nd Infantry Brigade patch is the best looking patch in the Army. It is a very striking design with the Big Dipper, North Star, mountains, and bayonet with the color scheme of red, white, blue, and gold. It really tells the story of the Alaskan roots of the Brigade I think. I'm kind of biased as it was my first unit patch when I was stationed at Ft. Richardson, AK from 1978 to 1981.

I'm detecting bias in some of the posts so far. I'd throw in the "it can't be one you've worn yourself" caveat.

He was old as hell, but I've seen an E-8 that had that as a combat patch.

I didn't think the CSA wore a patch, or is that the point?
