haven't been onlne for a while and haven't read anything about it in a while and hasn't been posted about since oct. after lookingit up.
Does anyone know of soldiers or units actually wearing it in theater? It would be tenfold more comfortable under the ibas.

If you saw it in iraq I'll be getting it in the next RFI draw this summer.

Good deal.

I imagine it will be a while before they field the entire Army with them. Hell I am still waiting for the new body armor that recently came out. Supposedly deployed units get priority, but I'm deployed and STILL dont have it yet.

we are getting new iba's already acuiotv? you drop it over your head and fold the sides to the front. I kinda like it. I was never able to always fasten my old iba especially the snaps, I would have have to loosen it,fasten the front then get someone to tighten the sides, or I could just leave the velcro showing at the bottom lol.

I saw some guys wearing these things a few months back, but haven't seen them since. They don't seem to be all that common (unless people have them, but nobody wears them).

There's lots of gear I hear about (MRAPs, ACU shirt, new IBA, fire retardant ACUs, M-4's). But I imagine I'll see it when it's about time to redeploy.

I was issued 2 sets of the flame retardant ACUs before I left. Not to bad. They are lighter material than the regular ACUs...sorta like the Aircrew BDUs, but some I have seen have a pinkish tint to them. Quickest way to tell them apart from regular ACUs is the OD green squares sewn to the left shirt cuff and the left thigh pocket flap.

I never got any of the other stuff though. Although I DID get a really nice Gerber Auto knife, and Gerber Multitool before I left!

Best part about the knife is I didnt sign for it. If there's no paperwork...no proof it was issued!

Check out this thread on Lightfighter about the Army Combat Shirt:

http://lightfighter.net/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8406084761/m/3781046463

Also - the "new IBA" isn't IBA - IBA stands for Interceptor Body Armor. "Interceptor" being Point Blank's model name. The new armor is the IOTV - Improved Outer Tactial Vest.

You have to register to read it. Any chance you could summarize?

The poster was comparing the 1st and 2nd generation shirts and some of the minor changes made. But there were great pics in the thread as well.

Our unit has the IOTV and the new shirt

We got the IOTVs at RFI, There pretty nice, there like a foam mesh liner inside, pretty "comfee", I do suggest get a RACK system of some type for all your MAGS,IFAK and pouches ect, because how it comes on and off, but thats just me.

I have not yet worn the shirt for the sole fact I think it looks really gay, I guess its just not hot enough yet Smile

Yeah, the Army Strong logo on the front of it makes it too cheesy to take seriously. I'll wear the hell out of it if it keeps me cool under all the crap we got, but the advertisement placement on the shirt makes the whole thing comical to me regardless of its potential function.

The only real thing Matt *****es about is having all the crap down his arms. he said it gets in the way. But for the weather out there he's pretty impressed with it. He said it takes him a lot longer to get uncomfortably hot.

In my unit the only time you have to wear that arm crap is when your in the turret.

You have to wear that whole bear suit, unfotunately.

AKOs signing page has a guy wearing one of these shirts. The caption says he's from the 4th ID...
AKO Page

I'de like to get my hands on one. I work at FN Manufacturing and have to qualify with my 40 cal pistol, my shotgun, and the FN-P90...these shirts would be great for that range time.
