yeah, sorry bout that, profile asked if I was active duty or considering joining, and I already enlisted, just waiting for Boot, so....thanks for that man. Will be in 5 months.
I grew up to a Navy dad in Pensacola. Its been a few years but I know you'll need a fishing rod.
Beaches are beautiful. Panama City is good for the weekends off. Fishings great (I <3 the fishing.) Pretty girls...last I checked. I haven't been there since Hurricane Ivan...so tell me if the place still exists?

Well...it has it's goods and bads... well on student status it not that great for the NCO's it maybe one of the nicest rooms you'll get. As a marine, you will be categorized into two different squadrons, avation maintenance squadron-1(AMS-1) or AMS-2. AMS-1 marines are more of the mechanics and ordinance the jobs in the Wing that require not as high as a ASVAB score as AMS-2. AMS-2 are more the techincal side of the wing the more feilds that deal with math and the "nerdy" side of aviation. Both are equally important. NAS Pesacola has alot to offer many free things that you can do on base you have a beach walking distance from the barracks, but not the cleanest to swim in. You will be residing on the base with a about 2,000 marines, a few thousand navy "airman", and a few hundred Airman. The chow hall it pretty great. There are very nice off base places you can visit like pensacola beach. The only negative that i would say about the base is the how restricted the marines would be on student status, it is mostly because of out own doing by going out and making trouble for the residents. but overall you will have a great time in pensacola.
