MARINES, I jut rembered that both the HARRIER and that prop-job was developed when I was at 3-WAY/UNITED VAN LINES, Sunnyvale CA. by BOING AIR-CRAFT, and the people over there knew I was a MARINE (VIETNAM VET), and ask me manyquestions as they worked on them. They found out I was also an Aviation Ordnanceman (trained)so many of the things I knew of JETS (A-4'S & F-4'S)they ued my knowledge tho help them. So, if you AO's have a problem, you know WHO TO BLAME! Hope my in-put was good for you.

Art is a few days away from getting back into the air with the SAR. 9 months to fix the damage of the hyd failure that cause the hover landing. Considering that Art was digging into his own packet for the cost of this, not bad on the time line. Being an old Hyd Guy on the A model I took part in a couple hyd failure repairs. The bad ones where when they blew the landing gear down, these took forever to work out all the air in the system. There was this hyd guy in VMA-542 that blew the gear down while on the air on jacks not once but twice. That was hard to live down for this guy. They actually let this guy re-enlist. Anyway, you could count on about a week to make the repairs on a hyd failure like this when you have the resorces of the Marine Corps.... ..

Art had the SHAR reveed up and ready to go Saturday. He had 2 downing grips both hyd related on taxi checks. So he shut it down for the weekend to make the needed repairs. It sounds like they where corrected Sunday and will be giving it another go next weekend. If your near ST Marys MD Airport next weekend you just may see a Sea Harrier making holes in the sky....
