My husband was with motor transport as a sgt in Hqtrs Company? His name was Walter Morris, he went on a float to the Phillipines to Menduro Island, also went on a float trip to Korea (by air) went to Pohang with the ROK marines. The VA wants him to prove he was there since his DD 214 doesn't reflect it but he has pictures even pictures of Hurriers which was a no no back then. I was on that float to Menduro..we had a CH-53 go down the day we were debarking back to the ship. Lost 23 Marines and I believe two Navy Corpsmen. I was stationed in okinawa at the time and the operation was in December 1977. It should be documented in his SRB.

I know that takes time but you have given the two of us more encouragement by just saying you were there too. my husband is in the process of trying to get VA benefits since he had a stroke in September.
