We used to put our Pilots back inside a wall locker in the Ready Room until we needed them again.
Just kidding........
They have other jobs and duties besides airplane driving. The Flight Schedule takes priority, but they also serve as Officer in Charge of all the other shops in the Maint. Dept., Maint. Officer, Opperations Officer, CO, XO, Training Officer, they rotate Officer of the Day duties, etc., etc. It seems there is always something to do to keep them occupied.
But after a mission, sometimes there is a after mission brief, sometimes they just go back to their other jobs, sometimes they just take the rest of the afternoon/nite off and go home.

They like the O-Club, and since they are mostly young guys, they like to chase skirts...If they are flying combat missions, they become even more active in the above items.... I had nothing but the highest regard for the pilots in the squadrons I was in....they are great guys...
