I know you all have answered this question before, i've been spending the last hour reading the responses. I am reenlisting as a V-22 Osprey Crew Chief. Just got a few questions. How long and how is school? What are your hours? How does your typical day go? and how is it in the airwing? I come from Division and an office job, i love flying, and i want to be a crew chief but am unfamiliar with the duties of a crew chief. I dont see very many Women Marines as a crew chief, and i know apparently that the school is pretty much demanding. But... i really want to do this. I come from Admin, and my husband is Bulk Fuel. Trying to stay stationed together is going to be interesting, esp with our daughter. Just trying to get some info. It's really difficult trying to figure this out. Also... any information on air delivery specialist? Sounds interesting, but.... i dont know of what they do either. I am going to try for crew chief, my husband wants to try air delivery. Thanks for all your help guys.
Actually believe it or not, i like getting dirty. I love being outside, i want to be able to tell someone that i deployed at least once while in the marine corps, and that i wasnt stuck behind a desk for 20 years. I want to be a Marine, not just hold the title.

Well, you'll get plenty of that.

You're wanting to pop a cap on someone.
Might I make a suggestion.
Why don't you make a trip across the river and get the scoop straight from the horses mouth?
I'm sure that you could set something up with someone from one of the squadrons and go get the insight 1st hand.
That is what I did when I had questions about the Osprey.
ok now how do i get a hold of these squadrons to go see them? this isnt like high school where i can take a day off to go watch the men at work, for the job that i want to be. And black hawks are still a helicopter, and a crew chief is a crew chief, dont you still do pretty much the same things?

Do ya know how to use a base phone directory?
I found these on the internet.
VMMT-204 Flight Line 449-6263
VMX-22 Flight Line 449-4059
VMM-162 Flight Line 449-5333
Contact the SNCOIC and set something up.
It is your career, it seems that you are a hard charger, you'll find some way of working it out, if you want it bad enough.
hmm. ok i'll see what i can do. hopefully this time i wont get my a** chewed out for talking to a sncoic about getting out of work to go to the airwing for a day.
