It really depends on what your Mos is going to be. Com is not the Wing, without know what you would like to do is hard to answer this one. You have Squadron Level, H&HMS Group Level, and Depot Level Maintiance Fields. In a 20 year career you would likely work in all 3 phases at one time or another. Research your question better...ask your Recruiter...
I agree with Tom, you need to provide a little more information on your MOS. Com itself is not part of the wing. I'm sure there are some Com jobs that are in the wing, most are more ground related.

Depends on who ya ask. I got a Grunt buddy that would swear a typical Winger's day starts about 9:30 or so.
That's when they go hang out at the PX until its time for Noon Chow. After Chow, its naptime. Then around 1500, some go to the Hanger and hang out, others go back to the PX. They all start heading out of the parking lots around 1630. That's to get a jump on rush hour traffic, or to be close the the head of the line when the Mess Hall opens for Evening Chow.
i know com isnt in the air wing... let me rephrase and elaborate when i enlisted i chose com with the reserves but i want to switch and go active and switch to an airwing field.... i dont know if that helps at all? if it doesnt i'll see my recruiter today
You have 3 levels of maintance in the Navy/Marine Corps I was only in the Squadron level so I can't comment on I and D levels. At the squadron level it's all about flight hours per month. If your unit is behind and the jets are down then expect to work 12 on 12 off 7 days a week untill the goal is met with up jets. But if they are behind on Flight hours because a lack of Pilots (aka Zero's) then they will be flying on the weekend. Most of the time they fly cross country for the hours as its not hard on the aircraft as to day to day flying. If a deployment is coming up Night ops may be needed or special type of touch and goes be in order. It all depends, get it? in normal times its 12 on, 12 off 5 days a week, night shifts week starts on Sunday night. Hope this helps, the Wing can be a fun place to be a Marine but it can be a %itch with long hours and endless weeks.
Talk to your recruiter 1st, see what you are qualified for, then if you have any questions about a certain Aviation MOS, come back and touch base with us.

first of all... change your profile. you want to know what a 63XX does...? im a 6322. i work on a PHROG all day and when i get off, i go to the gym. then i try to sleep for a few hours. and then wake up at 6 and do it all over again. its actually a pretty good deal. its hard work and not bad if you dont mind not having guaranteed weekends or fixed working hours. (sometimes it can go till bout 0400. that sucks. but otherwise it aint bad... and you get to play with multi-million dollar toys.. hahah
