Can someone tell me a little bit about the SERE School in California? Also, is there a difference in the training there on North Island verses Maine.

Most of what is learned at SERE school is classified. Best I can tell the diff between Brunswick and Coronado is Brunswick is colder in the winter and hotter in the summer. Big Grin

Bruce,
My kid went to Brunswick Feb 06.
SERE is an outstanding school but as I said alot is classified and your son will not talk a lot about it except to say (what I have heard is the stock answer) "It's the best school I never want to go to again." Big Grin
C-130 CC is a long and hard school. Lots to learn and know but a cool job when he gets to the fleet.

Hey there Pete,
Speaking of SERE, how are you "surviving" at your new sqd'n,
CIV-001? Beer

The kid gets back sometime next month. I'll have to see how he is after he now has some "experince" under his belt.

doing well. still job searching. it's going decent. i have it split up into a couple phases, since im a little out of touch with civilian life. phase one is applying just about anywhere, knowing im well qualified so i can land an interview. gain some interviewing, cover letter, and resume experience to prepare me to apply and interview for the job i really want. just before ive been hired, i just say i took a position with another company. maybe not the best way to go about things, but im learning a lot.

good to hear the kiddo's coming back next month. block leave after a deployment is pretty hectic for most people. everyone and their mother wants you to come visit. and with usually at most 12/14 days, there's never enough time to fit everyone and their plans in.
