So after taking the ASTB the 2nd time I qualified to be an NFO. I am graduating college this term and my OCS application is about to be put up for review. My recruiter and I are going to go over my service agreement this week, and I was wondering if anyone could help me. What is the life of an NFO like? Is it a difficult road? What is the flight physical consist of? Is there anything I can do to better prepare for it? Is flight school a lot of work? What exactly does the 8-10 years consist of? Being under contract for 8 years is a long time and I would like to know a few things about aviation. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Well I'm applying to the Marine Corp OCS.. as a NFO will I work more with Navy guys.. like I said i took the ASTB to keep my options open and I am trying to learn about the career.. I still may go ground.. and not to sound ignorant but Snuffys? what does that mean?

snuffie or snuffy: Junior Marine in the grade of lance corporal and below.

While this is generally true, most of us 1-tour commandoes considered ourselves snuffies even though we were sergeants and corporals...
