I did once. But only once...........

While at Quantico back in the late 70's:
The Air Station, and HMX-1 were just this micro-scopic little corner of the base.
There was only a few hundred of us---
really good looking, sauve, brilliant, sophisticated, and pleasant smelling Air Wingers.

It was awful------
We were surrounded by tens of thousands of these---------- 'creatures'.
They all had large protruding foreheads; and one big, long, eyebrow----
that barely covered their dull, glassey, and deepset, eyes.

After being there a few years, I finally figured out what they were......
The Scientific/Latin term for them is: Gruntus Magnus Neanderthalus.

And not getting Flight Pay like us good looking Wingers:
,,,, they were always broke 2 days after Pay Call.

Anyway---
They were everywhere. I even had some for neighbors.

One time the bunch of them that shared some small, dingy hovel;
got deployed. They asked me to keep thier darn dog--
which smelled just like they did.

Well,,,,, In a weak moment, I agreed to keep the mut.

Everything was cool for about a hour,,,, then---
just like the Grunts who raised it: the SOB crappped on the deck.

///////////////////////

I didn't know what to do.

I couldn't kill it---
I knew in a few months;
the ugly, stinking Grunts would eventually get off the "USS BIG GRAY",
and come back looking for the nasty beast.
But then again----- I couldn't have the filthy thing fouling
up my fancy Air Winger 'digs' either.

So,,,, I counciled with 'The Gunny'.
He said, "Just leave a window open.
When the critter does 'it' again,,,,,,,
grab him up, rub his nose in it, then throw him out the window."
After a few times of that,, he'll learn that he's supposed to crappp outside".

At the next week's Thursday inspection,
the Gunny asked me how my training was going with the 'Grunt Dog'.

I had to hang my head in shame.
I told him, "Like any other Grunt you'd do all that training with.....
The dog was the same.
After several lessons,,,,,,

Now:
When the dog crappps on the deck--
he just rubs his own nose in it, then jumps out the window".
