We currently live in rural Arkansas and want to purchase a house in Georgia. I want to find an "approved VA loan lender".
How do I find a lender to get preapproved for a VA loan? Can I trust an internet lender? Every time I try to find out the current VA loan rates, I get a list of internet Va loan lenders who want me to submit applications. I know we're supposed to contact several lenders to get the "best rate", but that's hard to do when you live 800 miles from where you want to buy. Any suggestions? |

Our wonderful Finance Moderator, MortageGuru should be able to point you in the right direction. Also, look at the ads on military.com for lenders, and see what banks where you are looking to buy have to offer. You have to go there to buy the house, talk to lenders at the same time.

There are a lot of lenders out there and rates and fees vary widely across the board. Rates and fees can't be quoted without you submitting a full application because there are adjustments to the rate based on credit score and loan amount. Also, with purchases, you can't lock your rate in until you have a contract and closing date. Feel free to send me a private message if you need some help in locating a lender.
