I'm a veteran and bought my home with my VA home loan benefit. I am now relocating for my job, so we are selling our home. The problem is that the market has crashed in our area since we purchased our home and the current value is less than we owe on the home. I have been talking to the VA and it seems like everything will be taken care of by them as far as the difference in price, and we just need to work with the lender to make sure they report the sale as paid in full, so no ding to our credit. Has anyone else sold their home with a VA compromise sale? Any experiences to share or advice?

Are you referring to doing a deed in lieu of foreclosure?
