My fiance just graduated from AF BMT last week & now we're debating on whether I should get an apartment near him wile he's in tech school or if I should just stick to visiting.

His tech school is at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX & it lasts for 14 weeks, so it'll be over in early-mid August.

To visit for about 4 days, it will cost me just under $500. This includes a roundtrip flight & hotel room. It would probably cost me around the same price to live in an apartment, per month. So I believe I'd be getting more out of my money.

I just want to know what others would do or think is best. I don't want to splurge half a grand on a few day visit when I could use it to live there.

If I decide to move, I really need more information on apartments. I don't want to spend a lot more than $500 a month on rent. I know I will have to pay for my way there since we're not married yet. We plan on marrying in early June. I just need help gathering information on apartments and I also need to find a place that will have a month to month lease, I think? I can't get a place with a 6 month lease as the minimum. I would only be there from June-August. So that is about 2 full months. Please, if you know of where I can get the best information, I'd really appreciate it if you let me know. Thank you so much!

& If you have any questions or had trouble understanding the way I put things, just ask. Thank you!

I'd personally stay put and maybe do a road trip 7 weeks into it and then again at graduation. Moving out there for such a short period of time is a significant expense. Not only is there rent but also utilities and food and all the other bills you are used to paying.
