Well, what a difference a day makes.

Ana, has been downgraded.

Bill has arrived,

Claudette wants to see the sights on the Florida Panhandle amd Mobile. Guess she wants to visit the OLD TIMERS PICNIC, at the Aviation Training Center. She's just early.

The below Quote is from a email sent to me by Jack Crowley.

[QUOTE]On Saturday the 5th of September the Mobile Chapter will be sponsoring our Annual All Hands Picnic. This Picnic was formerly known as the “Old Timers picnic” as a reminder, it is always held on the Saturday during Labor Day weekend at Walters Park which is adjacent to the Coast Guard Aviation Training Center in Mobile. (Tanner Williams Road and Ziegler Blvd)

This Annual Event was established in 1977 and since then we’ve only had to cancel it one time, this was in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina came ashore in the Gulf Coast.

The picnic is a family affair and open to “ALL” (Active Duty, Retirees, Dependants, guest and all past and Future Coasties. We’ve seen in the past that some come from all over the country to reminisce about the good old days. This is a time to meet new and old shipmates and acquaintances to socialize and talk about the times gone past. Bring your lounge chairs, children, scrap books etc.

This year we will have a special group of Sailors, the USCGC SEBAGO plans on having part of there Ships Reunion with us. We are looking forward in meeting over 25 sailors from this famous ship at our picnic.[QUOTE]
