It's hot in Honolulu, too!!! And Voggy from that damned volcanoe on the Big Island! Red Face

(Vog is a term Hawaiian's use to describe the haze emitted from the volcanoes...)

Interesting to note that the main crater at Kilauea developed a vent that is emitting steam. I have been there off and on for 15 years and never recall it doing that before.

An example of how hot it is in Southern Cal...my son, a Marine stationed at 29 Palms right now, called me last weekend.

He told me about another Marine who decided to take his shirt off and lay out for a bit. The problem was, he fell asleep. Two hours later, he woke up with 2nd degree burns over 25% of his body. They put him on a medflight out.

My son said it was over 120 degrees that day. Eek

Down here in San Pedro it rarely gets on, but when it does I hunker down in front of the swamp cooler. The building I live in doesn't allow A/C. The people on the second floor (and I live on the second floor) suffer the most. The temperature was 87 degrees about a month ago.
