Men or Women?
please state why either sex is more intelligent, give detailed responses and support to the intelligence of the sex you choose or unintelligence of the opposite sex. |

Are we talking about born men and women or/and men made into women and women made into men. Or men dressed as women and women dressed as men. Men acting as sissies, women acting as moucho....

... lol ... Well, if a man has surgically become a woman I reguard that person as both so they can't really be debated, or visa versa. If they just dress like the opposite sex they are still their origional sex, so.. cross dresser or not, which sex is more inteligent? |

ROFL my response is yet to come, but i thought it would be a pretty funny debate and am interested into peoples reasoning behind why they would choose a specific sex.  so go ahead... jump right in there |

I'm having a lot of fun with this new forum, but to be serious for just an instant.
I don't think one sex is smarter than the other. When you're ten days older than dirt you have learned that as maddening as women can be, they are smarter in some areas than men and in other areas, not so smart. Conversly the same can be said about men. What keeps it interesting, is the differences between individuals, and the mix that occurs seemingly at random. If you watch the movies on the Lifetime channel you would know that women always make the wrong choice or bad decisions.
There is no equivalent movie channel for men unless you include Spike. |

Ya know using that criteria you're probably right....Any body who gets up in the middle of the night to confront the monster from the black lagoon or some such with a knitting needle rolled up newspaper or a golf club is probably NOT the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree!!
But, since you mention Spike I've seen the same stupidity there as well.......keep workin' dude, we're not holdin' up too well here !!  |

Oh, come now, Tawodi - sure, we do stupid things in Spike movies...but we usually manage to resolve them through sufficient car chases, gun battles, and explosions. The end result is good, so the initial choices must not have been so stupid after all! On the other hand, most of the people dying at the hands of the stupid male hero are ALSO male...which may weaken my argument a bit... |

As a more serious answer - the studies I've seen show that each sex is superior in certain areas. This article suggests that men perform better on spatial questions, while women are superior in reading and verbal skills. In any event, if there is some slight difference in the average intelligence of each gender, it is hidden in the extreme variance between the highest and lowest performers. There's just too much difference between the smartest and dumbest man (ditto for woman) to be able to see a difference in the average. |

Not really, on Spike guys do stupid things and hurt themselves. On lifetime women make really poor choices and become victims. They set themselves up for victimization then make stupid choices prolonging the victimization. And of course there is a lot of crying, a lot of "he's not that bad," and little purposeful action. |
